Thomas Alt, former Apple Director & Entrepreneur, Joins Pointr Advisory Board

The appointment comes as Pointr accelerates growth, reaching 1.5 billion people every year with its location tech platform 

London, 11 July 2019 - Thomas Alt, an experienced entrepreneur and former Apple Director, has joined the advisory board of Pointr, a location technology platform that allows venues in retail, aviation and hospitality to create immersive experiences and optimize operations with location intelligence. 

“I’m thrilled to be appointed to Pointr’s advisory board,” said Thomas in a statement. “The company’s mission to digitize venues with location technology is extremely compelling for businesses, particularly in aviation, retail, hospitality and smart workplace.”

Thomas added that “Pointr has gathered impressive momentum thanks to the performance of their indoor location technology and their continuous investment in R&D. In less than a year, Pointr’s contracts in the aviation industry jumped over three-fold and they have many more deals in the pipeline.”

Thomas is an experienced entrepreneur and strategist. He founded Metaio, an Augmented Reality (AR) software company which was acquired by Apple in 2015. From 2015 – 2018 Thomas was based at Apple’s HQ in Cupertino, USA where he was Director of Engineering as well as Director of Procurement in the Strategic Deals Team. Thomas is highly skilled in Augmented Reality, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Partnerships and leads dealflow in key sectors including AR/VR, Automotive and Software. Thomas is currently a venture partner at Atlantic Bridge, a Global Growth Equity Technology Fund investing in technology companies in Europe, the US and China.
